Michael Skovira is the Chief Medical Officer of Cross Country Healthcare and co-chairs the Company's Clinical Advisory Council. Michael has more than 15 years of healthcare experience serving in clinical, administrative, and academic roles throughout his career. In his current role as CMO, Michael is responsible for directing, coordinating, and administering all aspects of clinical quality improvement initiatives. In addition to his clinical leadership, Michael is responsible for strengthening internal operations and developing meaningful customer relations through the development of innovative solutions.

Prior to joining Cross Country, Michael has practiced clinically for more than 10 years in Emergency Medicine and was most recently the Director of Education and Senior PA for his department. Michael also served as the Culture Leader for his department to elevate both the patient and provider experience. During his clinical tenure, Michael was nominated into Northwell Health's Clinical Leadership Development Program (CLDP) and the High Potential Development Program (HPDP) in which he graduated both programs and subsequently served as co-instructor for the HPDP course, "Motivating the Workforce". Additionally, Michael has served in several academic capacities outside of his department, including Adjunct Professor for his alma mater and Clinical Preceptor for multiple educational programs. He has served as a panelist on several healthcare topics and has delivered numerous CME-approved lectures and presentations.

Michael received his BS degree from Central Connecticut State University, and his MPAS degree from Pace University where he graduated Summa Cum Laude, was elected President of the Program’s SAAAPA chapter, and was the recipient of the Program’s Leadership Award. Michael then earned his MBA in Strategic Business Management from Hofstra University.
