Stephanie Mercado, CAE CPHQ, CEO and Executive Director of the National Association for Healthcare Quality (NAHQ), brings over 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry to her lead role at NAHQ. Over the past 8 years, she has introduced innovations and methodologies to research and define standardized competencies for the healthcare quality profession. This has resulted in the advancement of quality professionals and increased visibility of the value of the quality workforce within healthcare.

Stephanie is a leader in developing coordinated, competent workforces for both clinical and non-clinical professions. Mercado also orchestrated the development of the first and only database in the world that articulates the work of those working in healthcare quality.

She is a thought leader driving innovation and change in workforce development and healthcare topics to advance patient safety and quality in healthcare. With a keen ability to bring ideas to action, she leads with the mantra if there is a will there is a way.
